The growing size and complexity of business has increased the demand for decision makers and the ready availability of financial information and analysis that is the basis for making decisions. Monroe’s Business Administration and Accounting programs provide the education and background necessary for meeting the increased demands of modern business.



Business Administration
Monroe's Business Management Program brings the real world into the classroom with parcitioner faculty who are senior business executives. The progam's core foundation includes classes in management, marketing, finance and human resources.

In addition, with an array of minor options, students have the opportunity to concentrate their studies in the area that interests them most. Concentrations include: Project Management, Finance, Retailing, E-Commerce, Entrepreneurship and Human Resources. Plus, many students gain valuable experience throughout your academic career by participating in the award winning Monroe College SIFE team, working in the Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence or doing an internship so they can apply what they've learned in an actual local business even before they graduate!

The Monroe College Department of Business has a chapter of the
Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society which promotes higher scholarship in business education and recognizes and reward scholastic achievement in business subjects.

Accounting
Accounting is the basis for business decisions. Modern business depends on the ready availability of financial information and analysis. Monroe’s Accounting programs prepare you to provide such information utilizing both manual and computerized systems. The Bachelor's program in Accounting will provide you with a strong background in each of the major areas of study, such as principles of accounting, taxation, cost accounting and advanced accounting applications utilizing microcomputer hardware and software. The program in Public Accounting prepares students so they are eligible to take the Certified Public Accounting (C.P.A.) exam.
